Fragmented to Free | Recovering Wholeness: The Practice of Living Integrated
Nov 19, 2025
Through my own journey, I’ve learned that wholeness isn’t something we “get” to. We don’t arrive at it, we recover it.
This past year has been full of lessons, challenges, and unexpected grace. It’s been a season of refinement, discomfort, and peace all at once. The kind of paradox only growth can bring.
And somewhere in the middle of it all, I began to understand that wholeness isn’t about perfection, it’s about relationship.
It’s the work of living integrated: body, mind, heart, and spirit together, in conversation, in alignment, in grace.
RECOVERING WHOLENESS
We talk about wholeness a lot here on The Free Advantage, because it’s the heartbeat of freedom.
We spend so much of our lives living fragmented, separated from parts of ourselves that once worked in harmony. We push down our emotions, disconnect from our bodies, ignore our spirits, and overwork our minds. But wholeness isn’t about adding new pieces; it’s about recovering the ones we’ve forgotten.
When we were created, we were whole, fully alive, fully connected, fully loved.
Wholeness is remembering that truth and returning to it again and again.
THE PRACTICE OF LIVING INTEGRATED
Integration is a practice.
It’s the daily, intentional act of listening to all parts of who you are and letting them work together.
When we allow these parts to exist in relationship together, we begin to live whole.
It’s not about being perfectly balanced. No. Because we can’t, but it is about being deeply connected.
It’s hearing what your body needs, understanding what your emotions reveal, discerning what your mind believes, and grounding back to your spirit.
Wholeness is the freedom to bring your full self to every room you walk into, not edited, not performed, but real.
THE LANGUAGE OF EMOTION & SPIRIT
We often say things like “I’m just not emotional” or “I’m not a spiritual person.”
But the truth is, we are emotional. We are spiritual.
We were created to feel and connect, not just with others, but with ourselves and God.
Our emotions aren’t weaknesses; they are our language and our map that help us to communicate, understand, and navigate between us and the outside world.
They point us back to the truth and help us express the fullness of who we are.
And our spirit? It’s the compass that keeps us grounded when life feels uncertain.
Without it, we lose our sense of peace, our empathy, and our connection to the one who created us.
Wholeness isn’t found in ignoring these parts; it’s found in embracing them.
THE WORK OF RECOVERY
Recovery isn’t just for addiction or trauma; it’s for all of us.
It is the practice of living whole.
It’s about recovering your relationship with yourself.
It’s about remembering that you are not broken beyond repair. It’s about learning to see yourself the way God sees you.
Complete, Loved, and Whole.
When we begin to recover our wholeness, life shifts.
We stop chasing what’s missing and start tending to what’s already here.
We remember that our body carries wisdom, our emotions carry truth, our mind carries clarity, and our spirit carries peace.
It’s not perfection; it’s integration.
It’s the daily practice of letting all the parts of you speak again.

Final Thought
Wholeness is not perfection; it’s integration.
It’s learning how to live free, even when some parts of you are still healing.
The work of living integrated is not linear. It’s not fast. But it is freeing.
It’s the recovery of connection.
And in that recovery, we find freedom.
Next week, we’ll continue our reflection with “Discomfort is Growth.” We will explore how the heat of life often becomes the fire that refines us.
NEXT YEAR SEASON REVEAL
I am so excited about our upcoming season. This podcast has always been about the journey to freedom, and now, we’re opening the door to your stories!
We are moving into a season of Real Stories, Real Recovery, and Real Freedom.
You are going to hear raw, honest, and inspiring conversations with people who are walking this path in real time.
Each month, we’ll feature one powerful conversation about recovery, growth, authenticity, hope, and freedom!
I’ll be diving deeper into the themes that rise from those conversations, exploring the truths, tools, and takeaways that connect us all.
BUUUUTTTT like I said, I want to give you the same opportunity to share as you have given me.
This isn’t just my space. It’s ours.
Next season, I’m inviting YOU to be part of The Free Advantage in a new way.
I’m inviting 5 people to join me on the show for those intimate, honest conversations about real-life freedom.
Maybe you’re walking through recovery, wrestling with purpose, rediscovering your worth, or learning how to live whole again. Whatever your story, we are going to hold space for it here.
Together, we’ll explore your journey, your questions, and the truths you’re uncovering along the way.
These conversations will become part of our new Real Stories, Real Recovery, and Real Freedom season.
Q&A
I am also opening up listener Q&A episodes! Spaces where you can submit your stories, questions, or reflections about your own journey toward authenticity and freedom that I will discuss and answer on the show.
Think of it as a conversation between us. Real people, Real moments, Real transformation.
And who knows? Your question might become the next episode that helps someone else find their freedom, too.
This next season is about connection, about remembering that we don’t heal in isolation.
We heal in authenticity, in grace, in community.
Here’s to another season of truth-telling, freedom-finding, and living fully alive.
Because freedom isn’t just something we talk about here, it’s something we practice, together.
You can find all of the links to submit your story to be chosen for a guest spot and for your questions, stories, or reflections in the show description, my show notes, and on my home page in the menu at www.theriskypath.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
