Tying Up the Loose Ends | Clearing Clutter and Finding Freedom
Oct 08, 2025
Some weeks stretch us to our emotional limits.
We face loss, reflection, and the quiet nudge from God that says, It’s time to clean things up.
That’s where I found myself this week. Emotionally exhausted, spiritually raw, and surrounded by clutter, both in my mind and in my living space. It’s funny how those two things always seem to mirror each other.
I’ve realized that when my internal world becomes heavy, my external one does too. Things pile up. Clutter ensues. My desk, my closet, my thoughts... all of them become a reflection of what’s going on inside.
After such an emotionally charged week, I felt God calling me to clear space, not just physically, but spiritually. To tie up the loose ends, to release the burdens I’ve been carrying, to let go of what no longer serves me.
So I started small.
I put my hands to what was right in front of me, cleaning, sorting, tossing, organizing — grounding myself in the process. It was quiet, methodical, and healing.
And in those small movements, I felt something shift.
Because the truth is, living a life of freedom doesn’t always feel free.
Some days, it feels heavy. Some days, it looks like work.
It’s not always the bright and airy feeling of liberation we imagine sometimes; it’s standing in the middle of your chaos, taking a deep breath, and choosing to begin again.
I’ve learned that when we clear our spaces, we also clear our sight.
When we declutter what’s around us, we give God permission to declutter what’s within us.
And that’s where peace begins, not in perfection, but in presence.
So, if you find yourself standing in your own mess emotionally, spiritually, or physically, know that you’re not alone.
Freedom starts small.
Sometimes it’s as simple as putting your hands on what you’ve been avoiding and letting God tie up your loose ends.
When you do, you’ll notice that what once felt overwhelming starts to feel lighter.
What once felt like chaos begins to make sense.
And slowly, quietly, space is made for what’s next.
Reflection + Reveal Practice
Take 10 minutes today to clear one small space. A drawer, a counter, a corner.
Notice what comes up... emotions, memories, resistance, and allow yourself to let go, even just a little.
